Despite sitting in the fourth quarter, Jacob Evans tallied a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Dawson County boys basketball team to a 67-32 win against Gilmer on Friday night in Ellijay.

Tyler Dominy scored 15 points, and Levi Wilson scored 12 points for the Tigers.

Dawson County (6-0) plays host to Walnut Grove at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

NORTH GA. CHRISTIAN BOYS 60, FELLOWSHIP CHRISTIAN 30: Ashton Wright scored 18 points and had five steals to lead the Chargers on Friday night in Gainesville.

Zack Pendley grabbed 14 rebounds for North Georgia Christian (9-1).

The Chargers play host to Horizon Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

UNION COUNTY BOYS 65, TOWNS COUNTY 57: Seth Merritt scored 25 points to lead the Panthers to their first win of the season Friday night in Blairsville.

Trey Thomas added 14 points for Union County.

Brandon Henderson scored 26 points and Bradley Swanson scored 16 points to lead the Indians in the loss.

Union County (1-3) visits North Oconee to open region play at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bogart.

Towns County (1-2) plays host to Tallulah Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Hiawassee.

TOWNS COUNTY GIRLS 46, UNION COUNTY 45: Jordan Moss hit the game-winning foul shot with five seconds left in the game to lead the Lady Indians on Friday night in Blairsville.

Melissa Conrad and Gabby Arencibia scored 11 points each for Towns County.

Holli Abernathy scored 13 points to lead the Lady Panthers in the loss.

Union County (2-2) visits North Oconee to open region play at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Bogart. Towns County (3-0) plays host to Tallulah Falls at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Hiawassee.
