High School Scoreboard: Worth paces Flowery Branch girls basketball in tourney championship

Flowery Branch’s Taniyah Worth set the pace with 16 points, and the Lady Falcons defeated Jefferson 61-40 in the Tabo tip-off tournament championship on Tuesday.

Lexie Sengkhammee added 14 points, while Caroline Wysocki had 10 points for the Lady Falcons (3-0).

Flowery Branch will play in the Bradley Invitational tournament at Bradley County High School in Tennessee, where they play Spring Garden (Alabama) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 85, CHESTEATEE 32: John Mills scored a team-high 19 points, while his teammate Miles Janess posted 15 points to lift the Falcons to their fourth-straight win. Patsheko Lutumba and Justin Quick had 11 points apiece for the Falcons (4-0).

Flowery Branch travels to Winder to play Winder-Barrow at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 67, RABUN COUNTY 60: Hanna Grogan was named Piedmont Classic tournament’s Most Valuable Player after boosting Lakeview Academy to a victory in the Championship game at Piedmont College.

Grogan scored 18 points, while Christen Copeland added 14 points for the Lady Lions (3-0) to earn a spot on the All-tournament team.

Ryan Moody posted 12 points to add to the scoring efforts.

Lakeview Academy will play in Bradley Invitational in Tennessee on Friday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 95, EAST HALL 79: Drew Cottrell scored a team-high 31 points for the Lions and was named the Piedmont Hardwood Classic’s Most Valuable Player in Tuesday’s championship game.

Tre Gober was another to add to the scoring efforts with 24 points, while Josh Randolph was just short of a triple-double with 20 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists for the Lions. Carter Reeves added 10 points.

Lakeview Academy (3-0) hosts St. Francis at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Lakeview.

EAST HALL 54, LUMPKIN COUNTY 47: Carly Winters scored 23 points to boost the Lady Vikings past Lumpkin County in the Piedmont Classic tournament at Piedmont College. Kylah Mize scored 13 points for the Lady Vikings.
East Hall (1-2) host Shiloh at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

NORTH HALL BOYS 83, PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN 62: North Hall’s Evan Easton paced the Trojans with 30 points in a win against Providence Christian.

Taylor Hanson added 14 points for the Trojans (3-0), while Noah Holman had 11.

Providence Christian’s Parker Trump and Connor Allen had 14 points apiece.

North Hall hosts White County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN 57, NORTH HALL GIRLS 42: Tatum Mcquillen had a team-high 15 points in a loss against Providence Christian. North Hall’s (2-1) Niki Carver had 11 points.

Providence Christian’s Tamia Francis had 16 points.

North Hall hosts Gainesville at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

NORTH FORSYTH 58, DAWSON COUNTY 33: Abi Chatham scored 11 points in the losing effort to North Forsyth.
Dawson County (0-4) travels Habersham Central for a game at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

BUFORD 74, CAMBRIDGE 51: Buford’s Alex Jones led the Wolves’ to the Jefferson Tabo’s Tournament Championship with 19 points on Tuesday night in Jefferson.

Tobi Obasanya was not far behind with 13 points for the Wolves while Donell Nixon had 11.

Austin Panks had 10 points.

Buford (3-0) travels to Bogart to play North Oconee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
