Gainesville High’s volleyball squad dropped Area 8-AAAAA matches against Winder-Barrow (25-18, 24-26, 27-25) and Apalachee (21-25, 25-23, 25-21) on Wednesday. Leading the way for the Lady Red Elephants (29-11, 6-2 Region 8-AAAAA) was Sydney King with 37 digs and a pair of assists, while Caroline Mercer had four digs and an ace. Tanai Watson finished with 11 kills, 16 digs and two aces for Gainesville, and Sally Callahan finished with four aces and eight digs.
