Tessa Daniel pitched her 11th complete game and earned a 6-0 victory for the Buford High softball team in the first round of the Region 6-AA tournament against Westminster Wednesday at Blessed Trinity. Jordan Deep went 2 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs for Buford. The Lady Wolves (23-8) play at 2 p.m. on Saturday versus Blessed Trinity in the double-elimination tournament.

GAINESVILLE WINS 21ST: Kaylin Walden had 16 assists and nine aces to help the Lady Elephants to wins over Chestatee (25-13, 25-17) and Lanier (25-15, 25-20) on Wednesday night at Chestatee.
Gainesville (21-7, 5-1 Area 8-AAA) plays next at 6 p.m. on Oct. 3 at North Forsyth.
FLOWERY BRANCH WINS TWO: Colleen Grider recorded 12 aces and nine kills to help the Lady Falcons earn wins over South Gwinnett (25-17, 25-16) and Loganville (25-15, 23-25, 25-19) Tuesday in Loganville.
The Lady Falcons (19-14, 7-2 Area 8-AAAA) travel to Winder-Barrow for a match at 6 p.m. today.
