LeJavian Ratliff led Johnson to a pair of wins against Eastside (26-28, 25-18, 25-14) and Monroe Area (25-22, 25-21), recording 11 kills, nine digs and four aces on Tuesday in Monroe.
Karis Sloan added 10 kills for the Lady Knights (19-10, 5-1), and Kelly Chance had 10 assists. Savannah Turk tallied eight kills and five digs.
Johnson will play in a tri-match with Lanier and West Hall on Thursday in Sugar Hill.
CHESTATEE SWEEPS PAIR: Chestatee defeated Lumpkin County (25-13, 25-7) and Jackson County (25-14, 25-20) on the road on Tuesday in Dahlonega. Chelsea Schultz had three aces and an eight-point service run for the Lady War Eagles (4-2 Region 8-AAA), Grace Brown had 14 kills, and Tyler Bennett added 14 assists. Melanie Smith had 12 kills and four aces.
Chestatee travels to Johnson next Tuesday in Gainesville.
GAINESVILLE WINS TWO: Kaylin Walden had 48 assists with 27 service points, nine digs and four aces for Gainesville in wins over East Jackson (25-9, 25-9) and Winder-Barrow (25-15, 25-20) and a loss to Oconee County (25-23, 25-14).
Anna Walker recorded 28 kills, 11 service points, seven digs and two blocks for the Red Elephants (25-8, 6-1), and Stasha Hopkins had 15 points on serve with 14 kills, eight digs, four blocks and two aces.
Gainesville travels to Salem for a tri-match with Eastside and Salem on Thursday in Conyers.
NORTH HALL DEFEATS DECATUR: Kristina Gregory had 18 assists, four aces and three kills for North Hall in a win over Decatur (25-15, 25-20) and a loss to St. Pius X (25-16, 25-14) on Tuesday in Gainesville.
Allie Staub recorded 10 kills, six digs and four aces for the Lady Trojans, and Sydney Cleveland had seven digs.
North Hall plays host to Buford tonight in Gainesville.
BUFORD SPLITS TRI-MATCH: Tori Payton and Myra Sanchez tallied 14 and 13 assists, respectively, for Buford in a win over Cross Keys (25-8, 25-6) and a loss to Blessed Trinity (25-21, 25-5).
Maggie Roper added six kills, and Kat Tatum and Ashleigh Walden each had five kills for the Lady Wolves (14-14).
Buford travels to North Hall tonight in Gainesville.
LAKEVIEW LOSES PAIR: The Lady Lions lost to George Walton (25-14, 25-22) and Providence Christian (25-21, 26-24.) on Tuesday in Monroe.
Bailey Towles led Lakeview Academy with 16 assists, 10 aces and eight digs, and Katie White added seven kills and 16 digs. Katie Gay also had seven kills and 14 digs.
Lakeview travels to Habersham Central for a tri-match with Habersham Central and Lumpkin County on Thursday in Mount Airy.
NORTH GEORGIA BEATS HERITAGE (MONDAY): The North Georgia Christian Lady Chargers defeated Heritage Academy in three straight sets 25-19, 25-17 and 25-11 on Monday in Oakwood.
Jennifer Mullican had 17 service points and nine aces for North Georgia Christian (5-3), and Nicole Ball had nine kills. Morgan Johnson added 15 assists.
The Lady Chargers play host to Cumberland Christian on Tuesday in Oakwood.
Senior Bekah Rude (5-0) picked up the win from the circle for the Lady Wolves on Senior Night in a 5-2 win over St. Pius X on Tuesday in Buford.
Jazmin Hawkins was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored for the Lady Wolves (19-1, 6-0), and Taylor Nesmith went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Noah Sudderth was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a double.
Buford plays host to Dawson County in the regular-season region title game tonight in Buford.
LUMPKIN SPLITS IN ROUND ONE: Lumpkin County lost the first game against Monroe Area 3-1 in round one of the Region 8-AAAA tournament before, winning the second match 5-3 on Tuesday in Dahlonega.
Ashley Brown and Morgan Wood had two hits each in Game 2, and Brown was the winning pitcher.
Lumpkin County plays a decisive game three with Monroe Area at 6 p.m. tonight in Dahlonega.
David Thome and Tristan Diepenbrock placed eighth and 11th overall, respectively, in the varsity boys’ run for the North Georgia Christian Chargers in the second round of the ACCE Cross Country meets on Saturday in Cumming.
Nicole Ball and Jana Butler placed 12th and 14th overall, respectively, in the varsity girls run. Both teams will run in the next round at Gainesville College on Saturday in Oakwood.
