Lakeview Academy won volleyball matches against Tallulah Falls 25-10, 25-17 and Johnson 25-18, 19-25, 25-12 on Thursday in Gainesville.

Jamie Nixon led the Lady Lions with 14 kills and four blocks in the win over Johnson. Mona Abraham added 11 digs and five kills to go along with Molly Gay's 11 assists for Lakeview.

Johnson's Savannah Turk had four kills and 12 digs in the match against the Lady Lions.

The Lady Knights' Sophia Love contributed five assists.

Johnson also played Tallulah Falls and won 25-9, 25-23.

The Lady Lions (13-10, 4-1 Area 8-A and the Lady Knights (12-13, 2-4 Area 8-AAA) will both play in The Battle at The Branch on Saturday at Flowery Branch.

BUFORD TAKES TWO: Maggie Roper led the Lady Wolves with 27kills, 10 aces and 14 digs Thursday in the Gwinnett County Championships, beating Mountain View 25-12, 25-14, Central Gwinnett 25-7, 25-18 and losing to Collins Hill 25-17, 21-25, 25-12.

Jessica Falletta added 14 kills, nine aces and 10 digs for Buford.

The Lady Wolves' Bailey Hicks, McKenzie Darrah and Amalie Gee contributed 13 digs, 12 kills and 10 aces, respectively.

Buford (13-9) will continue play in the Gwinnett County Championships at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Suwanee Sports Academy.

JEFFERSON WINS DOUBLE-HEADER: Sarah Wood had an ace, 10 kills, seven assists and one block to lead the Lady Dragons in two victories over Rabun County 25-9, 25-10 and 25-15, 25-18.

Jefferson's Cassie Metcalf had one ace, five kills and two digs.

The Lady Dragons (18-5, 4-0 Area 8-AA) plays in the Ampest Spikefest in Conyers at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

WEST HALL WINS TRI-MATCH: LeNiesha Kearse had 12 kills and four blocks in the Lady Sprtans wins over South Gwinnett 25-13, 25-20 and Winder-Barrow 25-21, 25-11.

Laykin Herford had 29 assists for West Hall in two matches.

The Lady Spartans (25-3, 6-2 Region 8-AAA) have won 13 of thier last 14 and play at The Battle at The Branch at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

EAST JACKSON 4, JEFFERSON 1: Jordan Whitfield had the Lady Dragons lone RBI in a loss at East Jackson on Thursday.

Jefferson (10-17, 7-3 Region 8-AA) travels to North Oconee to play at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
