Taylor Kennedy was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs for Banks County in an 11-5 win over East Hall on Thursday in Gainesville.

McKenna Rylee was 2 for 4 with a pair of singles, four stolen bases and four runs scored for the Lady Leopards, and Morgan Cox was 3 for 4 with three singles and a pair of RBIs.

Kaitlyn Stewart tallied a pair of RBIs on a pair of singles, and Haley Warner recorded one RBI and was 2 for 4 at the plate. Savannah Denton pitched a complete game for the win.

Banks County plays host to Hart County on Monday in Homer.

JEFFERSON 3, OGLETHORPE COUNTY 0: Erin Jackson had a two-run home run for Jefferson in the fifth inning to lead the team to a win on Thursday in Lexington.

Megan Faulkner hit an RBI double in the fifth for the Lady Dragons (14-13, 5-1 Region 8-AA), and Morgan McKinney picked up the win from the circle.

With the win, Jefferson secured the No. 2 seed going into next week’s region tournament.

The Lady Dragons travel to North Oconee on Monday in Bogart.

JEFFERSON 4, RABUN COUNTY 3 (WEDNESDAY): Lindsey Miles was 3 for 4 with two runs scored for the Lady Dragons in the win on Wednesday in Tiger.

Ashley Boyd had an RBI for Jefferson, Savannah Snapp was the winning pitcher and Emily Holman got the save.

Volleyball

Grace Williamson recorded 33 assists, five kills, four digs and a pair of aces for Jefferson in wins over Johnson (21-25, 25-21, 25-14) and Flowery Branch (25-17, 23-25, 25-21) on Thursday in Oakwood.

Sarah Wood had 23 kills, seven digs, six aces and four blocks for the Lady Dragons (21-7), and Paige Watson added 23 assists and four digs. Amanda Flowers had six aces and six kills.

Jefferson faces Woodland and Locust Grove on Friday at the Ampest SpikeFest in Conyers.

For Johnson, LeJavian Ratliff had 18 digs and nine kills in a win over Flowery Branch (25-16, 25-13) and the loss to Jefferson.

Kelly Chance added 10 aces, nine assists and five digs for the Lady Knights (17-6, 2-1), and Savannah Turk tallied seven kills and five digs. Karis Sloan had six kills and Lindsey Anderson had six digs.

Johnson travels to the Battle of the Branch on Saturday in Flowery Branch.

BUFORD SPLITS PAIR: Mikhayla Riegel recorded 18 digs for Buford in a win over Peachtree Ridge (25-19, 25-11) and a loss to Norcross (25-12, 25-21) on Thursday at the Gwinnett County Championship Tournament at Suwanee Sports Academy in Suwanee.

Maggie Roper tallies 12 kills and nine digs for the Lady Wolves (12-12), and Kaitlin Tatul had five kills and four blocks. Tori Payton added 22 assists.

Buford continues play in the GCC Championship on Saturday in Suwanee.
