The East Hall Lady Vikings won their 17th match of the season Tuesday in Winder, the most wins in program history.
East Hall defeated Winder Barrow 25-12,25-11 and then lost to Apalachee 22-25, 12-25.

Brittney Cambell recorded 13 assists, Kara Hix had eight kills, and Latisha Shelton had five digs for the Lady Vikings.

The Lady Vikings play next at the East Hall Community Center in a quad match against Rabun County, Lumpkin County and Pinecrest Academy on Thursday beginning at 5 p.m.

GAINESVILLE SPLITS OCONEE TRI-MATCH: Kaylin Walden had 25 assists for the Lady Red Elephants as Gainesville lost to Oconee 25-19, 25-14 and won their match versus Walnut Grove 25-16, 25-18.

Daphne Ragone had 12 digs for the Lady Red Elephants, while Stasha Hopkins added six kills.

Gainesville (15-6, 3-1 Region 8-AAA) plays at 7 p.m. on Thursday in a tri-match at West Hall with Lanier.

BUFORD DROPS TWO AREA MATCHES: The Lady Wolves fell to 4-A/AA opponents Greater Atlanta Christian 9-25, 8-25 and Riverwood 9-25, 25-22, 10-25 at GAC on Tuesday.

Maggie Roper recorded 13 kills and eight digs, Jessica Falletta added 16 digs and six kills, and Bailey Hicks had 19 assists and four aces.

Buford play at home against Providence next Tuesday.

WEST HALL WINS 20TH MATCH: The Lady Spartans improved to 20-2, 5-1 in Area 8-AAA with wins over 8-AAA teams Eastside (23-25, 25-16, 25-23) and Lanier (25-14, 25-12).

Stephanie Rowland led the way with 17 kills and eight blocks going up against one of the top players in the state in the Eastside match.

Leniesha Kearse added nine blocks, Laykn Herford recorded 36 assists and Carrie Ruis had 14 digs.

West Hall play at Lanier against the hosts and Eastside on Tuesday.

JOHNSON SPLITS PAIR OF MATCHES: The Lady Knights went 1-1 at Chestatee on Tuesday night, falling to Monroe Area 25-13, 19-25, 23-25 and defeating Chestatee 21-25, 25-19, 25-20.

Kelly Chance had four aces, seven kills and eight assists, Sophie Love added four aces and 17 assists, Christina Petitrecorded seven kills and five digs and Kelsey Panter added three digs.

Johnson plays at 6 p.m. Thursday at East Jackson against the hosts and Jefferson.

Softball

LUMPKIN COUNTY 7, CHESTATEE 3: Ashley Brown pitched a complete game for the win to lead the Lady Indians Tuesday night in Dahlonega.

Lumpkin County (8-5, 5-2 8-AA) received most of its offense with one swing, a grand slam homerun from Morgan Wood, who finished 2 for 2 with four RBIs.

Lumpkin County plays at 4:30 today against Commerce at North Georgia College in the North Fall Classic.

JEFFERSON 8, HART CO. 0: Savannah Sapp was the winning pitcher after pithching three innings. Morgan McKinney came in for the final three innings and threw five strikouts.

The Lady Dragons (9-17, 6-2 Region 8-AA) will host Elbert County at 6 p.m. Wednesday and celebrate Senior Night.
