High school scoreboard: Satterfield, White County rout East Hall

The White County High softball team stayed in the hunt for a region title with a 10-1 win against East Hall on Thursday in Cleveland.

Stephanie Satterfield picked up her 11th win of the season with 10 strikeouts while going 3-for-3 at the plate for White County (13-4, 7-2 Region 7-AAA).

Kayley Dover and Emma Cummings each had three hits for The Lady Warriors. Lindsay Messmore was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs and Laura Sangster added two hits.

White County faces Hart County at 6:15 p.m. and Forsyth Central at 8 p.m. Saturday in the North Fall Classic.

Jefferson 4, Dawson County 0

Kara Perry pitched a one-hit complete game with six strikeouts for the Lady Dragons on Thursday in Dawsonville.

Devin Stanley was 2-for-3 with one run for Jefferson (10-12, 3-2 Region 8-AA). Callie Holloway, Summer Bartek, Brooke Whelchel and Erin Knight each recorded hits for the Lady Dragons.

Kayla Grizzle was the lone Dawson County (8-8, 1-4 Region 8-AA) player to get a hit.

Jefferson visits Oglethorpe County at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Dawson County visits Rabun County at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday.

Pickens 3, North Hall 2

Megan Rogers took the loss for the Lady Trojans with 10 strikeouts and five hits allowed.

North Hall (11-7, 2-3 Region 7-AAA) had 10 hits and stranded 14 runners.

North Hall plays host to Lovett at 8 a.m. Saturday in the North Fall Classic.

VOLLEYBALL

Buford sweeps at home

The Lady Wolves won four straight matches against Jackson County (25-10, 25-20) and Chestatee (25-17, 25-22) on Thursday in Buford.

Hallye Jerkins had 10 kills, Morgan Nash had 13 assists and Nancy Mattox added two blocks for Buford (11-7, 1-1 Area 4-A/AA) against Jackson County.

Hannah Parets had 10 digs, Elizabeth Darden had 11 digs and Denee Badois had four kills to lead the Lady Wolves against Chestatee.

Alura Roe had five kills, Charlotte Hill had 10 assists, one kill and one dig and Jessica Porter had 23 digs for Chestatee against Buford.

Chestatee also defeated Jackson County (25-18, 25-7). Roe had nine kills, three digs and one block, Ali Burnette had five kills, four aces and four digs and Hill added 12 assists and four aces.

Buford faces Decatur, Providence Christian and Avondale at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greater Atlanta Christian.

Chestatee participates in the Winder Tournament on Saturday at Winder-Barrow. Jackson County visits Morgan County at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Flowery Branch stays hot at home

The Lady Falcons earned their fourth straight win against Berkmar (25-13, 25-8) and Meadowcreek (25-16, 25-9) on Thursday in Flowery Branch.

Jennica Ramey had 34 assists, five aces and one kill for Flowery Branch (24-8, 4-1 Area 7-AAA). Megan Grewett had eight kills and two aces against Berkmar. Danielle had six kills and three aces against Meadowcreek.

Flowery Branch plays host to Pickens and Gainesville at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

West Hall splits home meet

The Lady Spartans split a home meet with a win against North Hall (25-14, 17-25, 25-23) and loss against South Forsyth (25-21, 25-20) on Thursday in Oakwood.

In West Hall’s (11-7, 0-3 Area 7-AAA) win against North Hall, Erica Grainer had three aces, seven kills and 11 assists, Abigail Grindle had eight kills and six digs and McKenzie Jackson added seven kills.

In the Lady Spartans’ loss to South Forsyth, Kristin Holmes had two kills, Jessica Hollis had 13 digs and two aces and Grainger added seven assists.

The Lady Trojans (13-10, 4-1 Area 7-AAA) also defeated South Forsyth (25-16, 17-25, 25-20). Evann Rowland finished the night with 44 digs and 16 kills, Kathryn Bell had 22 assists, Sarita Madera had five assists and four aces, Katherine Filchak had nine kills and nine blocks and Kelsey Marlatt had 34 digs for North Hall.

West Hall plays host to East Hall, Gilmer and Johnson at 5 p.m. Tuesday. North Hall faces West Forsyth and Creekview at 5 p.m. Tuesday at West Forsyth.

Lakeview Academy splits road meet

The Lady Lions split a tri-match with a win against Jefferson (25-19, 25-16) and a loss to Prince Avenue Christian (22-25, 25-23, 24-26) on Thursday in Jefferson.

Megan Rochester had eight kills and six blocks and Heather Styles added seven aces for Lakeview Academy (8-11, 5-4 Area 8-A/AA). Louisa Jacobs had six kills, Emilie Norton had 13 assists and Brianna Holcomb had five digs against Prince Avenue Christian.

Lakeview Academy faces Habersham Central and Madison County at 5 p.m. Monday at Habersham Central. Jefferson faces Apalachee and Winder-Barrow at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Apalachee.
