The Flowery Branch boys cross country team placed third at the Wendy’s Invitational on Saturday in Charlotte, N.C. Jake Shewbert led the Falcons with a 23rd-place time of 16 minutes, 11 seconds. Flowery Branch won a tiebreaker over Class AAAAAA team Etowah. The Falcons have two top-five finishes the last two weeks after winning the Aubrey Gunderson Invitational last weekend in Conyers.
