White County’s Jenna Gearing broke a four-year-old course record at the Mountain Invitational at Unicoi State Park on Thursday in Helen, winning the girls race with a time of 18 minutes, 49 seconds. Witt Nix of North Hall won the boys race in 16 minutes, 32 seconds. North Hall won the boys team event, led by Nix, Bryce Schuebert in second with a time of 16:33, Zack Hill in fifth at 16:47.8, and Quintin Miles in 10th at 17:05.4. South Forsyth took second in the team scores, and Hart County was third.
