North Georgia Christian traveled to Columbus for the opening round of the Independent Christian Schools of Georgia-Alabama state volleyball tournament and defeated the Lady Crusaders from Grace Christian Academy in four games on Thursday.

The Lady Chargers won 27-25, 25-22, 13-25, and 25-20. They will travel to Marietta on Tuesday to play the Cumberland Lady Patriots in the ICSGA Elite Eight.

Cross Country

LIONS QUALIFY FOR STATE:The Lakeview Academy boys cross country team finished fourth overall in the Region 8-A meet Thursday. This is the second year in a row Lakeview has qualified for state. Dustin Snyder finished fifth overall at 17 minutes, 18 seconds, which qualified him for state as an individual.

Dalton Snyder ran a time of 18:07 and finished in 11th. Lewis Brooks was in 12th place at 18:17, and Grant Hocker was in 29th with a time of 19:22.
