Sydney King tallied 15 digs, three service points and an ace Tuesday night as the Gainesville Red Elephants defeated Lanier and Clarke Central on Tuesday night.
The wins finished off region play for Gainesville (26-15, 7-2 in Region 8-AAAAA) as the team finishes off the season today at North Hall.
Gainesville’s Morgan Frazier and Bessie Winston combined for 10 kills, and Sally Callahan added eight service points in the win over Lanier (30-28, 19-25, 25-14). Callahan then hit 10 service points with six digs, while Abby Alexander added three aces, 11 service points and two blocks in the victory over Clarke Central (25-23, 17-25, 25-18).
EAST HALL WINS 1 OF 2: Jessica Chmiel used six points on serve, five kills and an ace, a dig and a block to help the East Hall Lady Vikings defeat Lumpkin County (25-20, 25-18) after falling to Fannin County (25-17, 25-21) Tuesday night.
East Hall (40-12, 4-2 in Region 7-AAA) had help from Minette Maldonado, Holly Poole and Summer Lindsey, who all combined for 11 points on serve, two kills, 25 digs and two assists in the action.
Allyson Segars had a successful night for East Hall, hitting 15 points on serve with five aces, 11 kills and 32 digs. Emily Roberts had three points scored on serve, 10 kills and two blocks.
The Lady Vikings play today at Habersham Central. The match begins at 5 p.m.
