Chelsea Young and Aleayah Hendrix each made two free throws in the final 45 seconds to lead the Gainesville girls basketball team to a 39-36 win over Franklin County on Tuesday in Gainesville.
Young finished with six points and four steals for Gainesville, while Rebecca Webster led the Lady Red Elephants with nine points and 12 rebounds.
Franklin County was led by Kat Wynn, who scored a game-high 23 points.
Gainesville (2-2) visits North Oconee at 7 p.m. Friday.
WEST HALL BOYS 67, LUMPKIN COUNTY 25: With 18 points from Dre Pou and 12 points from Shunquez Stephens, the Spartans won Tuesday in Gainesville.
Jarquise Young added 11 points for West Hall (3-1), which visits Habersham Central at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
WEST HALL GIRLS 34, LUMPKIN COUNTY 28: Brooke Reed had 11 points and Amber Johnson scored 20 as the Lady Spartans won Tuesday in Gainesville.
Morgan Wood led the Lady Indians with seven points.
West Hall (2-3) visits Habersham Central at 7 p.m. Friday. Lumpkin County visits Johnson at 4 p.m. Saturday.
EAST HALL GIRLS 50, FLOWERY BRANCH 45: Morgan Jackson scored a team-high 19 points as the Lady Vikings won Friday in Flowery Branch.
Jasmine Jenkins added 17 points for East Hall (1-1), which visits Gainesville at 6 p.m. Saturday.
EAST HALL BOYS 59, FLOWERY BRANCH 51: The Vikings trailed 23-20 at halftime but scored 22 points in the third quarter to take the lead and earn the win Tuesday at Flowery Branch.
Sterling Bailey and Hayden Chapman each scored a game-high 14 points for East Hall (2-0).
Kymon Woods scored 13 points and chipped in seven assists for the Vikings.
Rudy DeAza and Marquise Wise each scored 11 points to lead Flowery Branch (0-1), which visits Chestatee at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Bailey also added 12 rebounds for East Hall, which visits Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
CHESTATEE GIRLS 42, CEDAR SHOALS 33: With 15 points and seven rebounds from Peyton Robertson leading the way, the Lady War Eagles won Tuesday in Athens.
Melissa Bailey added seven points and seven rebounds for Chestatee, which plays host to Flowery Branch at 7 p.m. Friday.
DAWSON COUNTY BOYS 61, GALLOWAY 31: Led by 13 points apiece from Will Anglin and Tyler Dominy, the Tigers won Tuesday in Dawsonville.
Jacob Evans added 12 points for Dawson County (3-1), which plays host to Gilmer at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 62, GALLOWAY 26: Ten different players scored for the Lady Tigers as they earned the win Friday in Dawsonville.
Carley Gilreath and Natalie Parker each scored 10 points to lead Dawson County (2-2).
Gilreath added three assists and Parker added five steals, while Morgan Bennett and Kacie Bearden each scored nine points.
Kenna Seitz added six points and five rebounds for Dawson County, which plays host to Gilmer at 7 p.m. Friday.
