High School Scoreboard: North Hall tops North Forsyth, 4-3, in 11 innings

North Hall’s Dylan Lavender squeeze-bunted Austin Adams home in the bottom of the 11th inning with the bases loaded for a 4-3 non-region victory against North Forsyth on Saturday in Gainesville.

The Trojans connected for 11 hits, compared to North Forsyth’s seven. The result follows North Hall’s 4-3 win on Friday over Flowery Branch in nine innings Friday. Adams connected for three hits in his six at-bats, while Caleb Clark had two hits.

Reese Olson (six innings pitched, six hits allowed) started for the Trojans. Jackson Latty, Corban Meeler and Clark all contributed in relief.

Trailing 3-1, North Hall scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to stay alive until Lavender’s play allowed Adams to tag safely five innings later.

JOHNSON 4, CENTRAL GWINNETT 0: The Knights (1-5) were spurred to victory by pitcher Chandler Barkley, who tossed a complete game on 89 pitches and eight strikeouts.

Barkley gave up just two hits in the game.

Johnson’s offense was powered by Payden Grizzle, who went 3 for 4 at the plate with three singles, an RBI and run scored.

Overall, the Knights had five hits with Isaiah Torres and Tim Smith each picking up a hit. Torres, Mark McGraw and Avery Goss each scored runs.

Johnson visits West Hall at 5:55 p.m. Monday.
