High school scoreboard: McCormack sets new meet record

North Hall senior Ty McCormack set a new meet record of 15-minutes, 59-seconds to win the West Hall Invitational on Tuesday, breaking the previous meet record by 30 seconds.

The Trojans placed all seven of their runners in the top 20, including Cody Barger (second), Reese Walker (third), Brandon Lawson (fourth) and Ryan McDougall (10th).

Ansley Lawson placed third overall, Patrice Sweet fifth, Sarah Harper seventh and Laura Mancin ninth for the Lady Trojans.

Softball

FLOWERY BRANCH 4, ARCHER 1: Rachel Duden pitched a one-hit complete game with four strikeouts in the pitching circle for the Lady Falcons (10-7, 7-1 Region 7-AAA) in the Brookwood Invitational on Wednesday. Allison Thornton, Meagan Albini, Roxie Dalton and Callie Orr each scored a run for Flowery Branch. Caitlin Fowler and Duden each produced an RBI double for the Lady Falcons.

Flowery Branch faces Lambert at 5:30 p.m. today in Suwanee.

WHITE COUNTY 7, CHESTATEE 0: Stephanie Satterfield struck out eight en route to her first no-hitter of the season against the Lady War Eagles on Wednesday in Cleveland.

The Lady Warriors (12-6, 7-2 Region 7-AAA) were led by Morgan Jacobson, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Heather Herdliska went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Katherine Sledge went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for White County.

White County visits East Hall at 5:55 p.m.
