Lady Knights win in overtime over North Hall

Kayln Dumanowsky scored for the Johnson girls (5-2-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAA South) in the second period of overtime off of an assist by Emily Byers in a 1-0 win against North Hall on Friday night in Oakwood. The Lady Knights outshot the Lady Trojans 11-3.

Goalkeeper Alden Powell recorded nine saves for North Hall (2-5, 2-1 Region 8-AAA North).

The Lady Knights visit Walnut Grove at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, and the Lady Trojans host Lanier at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

JOHNSON 2, NORTH HALL 1: Jonathan Mendoza and Isreal Avila each scored for the Knights (5-1-2, 2-1 Region 8-AAA South) on Friday night in Oakwood. Joshua Martin recorded eight saves in goal for Johnson.

Zach Tibbs scored for the Trojans.

The Knights visit Walnut Grove at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and North hall hosts Lanier at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

WEST HALL GIRLS 8, STEPHENS COUNTY 0: Tania Perez scored five goals for the Lady Spartans (4-2, 2-0 Region 8-AAA South) on Friday night in Oakwood. Rachel Kline, Daysi Lucumi and Idalia Avelar each scored one goal for West Hall. Alex Smith and Kylie Beaman combined for the Lady Spartans' shutout.

West Hall hosts Gainesville at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

JEFFERSON GIRLS 7, EAST HALL 3: After trailing 4-0 at halftime, the Lady Vikings (1-6) responded with goals by Bertha Rondan, Tatiana Castillo, Jannelly Ramos in the second half. East Hall hosts Hart County on March 20.

EAST HALL BOYS 6, JEFFERSON 0: The Vikings (5-1-1) controlled the ball most of the game Friday night.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 1, CLARKE CENTRAL 0: Leo Manzo scored for the Falcons Friday night.

Flowery Branch hosts Madison County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 5, COLONIAL HILLS CHRISTIAN 1: Kayla Goodson scored a hat trick for the Lady Chargers (4-2) on Friday night in Lithia Springs. Nicole Ball and Hannah Kidd each added a goal for North Georgia Christian.

The Lady Chargers host Creekside Christian at 4 p.m. Monday at Allen Creek Soccer Complex.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN BOYS 9, COLONIAL HILLS CHRISTIAN 3: Chandler Staton scored three goals for the Chargers (3-2) on Friday night. Dylan Boonstra, Trey Collins, Corwin Kulig, Daniel Lloyd, Jonah Martin, and Tristan Diepenbrock each added a goal for North Georgia Christian.

The Chargers host Creekside Christian at 6 p.m. Monday at Allen Creek Soccer Complex.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 1, CARROLLTON 0: Eduardo Espinoza scored for the Red Elephants (5-1) off of an assist from Ricardo Gomez on Friday in Carrollton. Edgar Espinoza earned the shutout for Gainesville.

The Red Elephants visit West Hall on Tuesday.

CARROLLTON GIRLS 2, GAINESVILLE 1: Elizabeth Fischer scored for the Lady Red Elephants (5-2, 3-0 Region 8-AAA South) off of an assist from Hartley Carter on Friday night in Carrollton.

Gainesville visits West Hall on Tuesday.

RABUN GAP 1, CHESTATEE 0: The War Eagles (2-5) were outshot 17-8 on Friday afternoon in Rabun Gap.

Chestatee visits Lumpkin County Tuesday in Dahlonega.

Baseball

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 10, EAST JACKSON 9: Lewis Brooks hit a single up the middle in the seventh inning for the Lions to score two runs and grab the win in Commerce.

Harrison Styles led Lakeview going 2 for 3 with a double and a single, while Dakotah Chalmers was 1 for 2 with two RBIs, and Jarrett Huge was 2 for 3 with two doubles. Derek Fadool earned the win for the Lions.

Lakeview Academy visits Tallulah Falls on Monday.

JEFFERSON BOYS 3, HART COUNTY 2 (THURSDAY): Singles players Zach Bost and Gage Thompson recorded wins for the Dragons on Thursday afternoon. Doubles team Austin Pratt and Jackson Howard also recorded a win for Jefferson.

HART COUNTY GIRLS 3, JEFFERSON 2 (THURSDAY): Taylor Bost and Abi Muesse recorded wins at singles for the Lady Dragons on Thursday afternoon.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 5, WOODY GAP 0 (THURSDAY): The Lions recorded a 5-0 win on Thursday by default.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 4, WOODY GAP 1 (THURSDAY): The Lady Lions swept singles on Thursday with wins from Bailey Towles, Sarah Grace Brock and Vidya Mani-Medipalli.

EAST HALL BOYS 4, DAWSON COUNTY 1 (THURSDAY): Dane Allen continued his undefeated season for the Vikings (2-2, 1-1 Region 8-AA North) in a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles on Thursday in Dawsonville.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 5, RABUN COUNTY 0 (THURSDAY): The Lady Leopards recorded a shutout on Thursday evening in Homer.

Track

RIVERSIDE MILITARY 66.5, DAWSON COUNTY 61.5 (THURSDAY): Marlan Edwards, Tochi Uzoije and Ian Parvin-Asher earned honors in the shotput and discus throw for the Eagles on Thursday afternoon. Skylar Toney won the pole vault, recording 11 feet for Riverside, and D’Yves Martin earned high jump honors.

Chandler LeCave and Liam Mahoney had a one-two finish in the 3,200 meter run for the Eagles, and Trevor Jones and Spencer Jackson did the same in the 200. Gage Bolden finished first in the 100 for Riverside, and Edwards was third. The Eagles 400-relay team of Jones, Bolden, JaeRontae McGordon and LeCave won with a time 46.23 seconds. Taylor Calderon took second in the 1,600 with a 5:10 for the Eagles, and Chandler LeCave added points with a second in the 800 and 400 events.
