Deavers leads Lakeview baseball

Dallas Deavers earned the win for Lakeview Academy (3-1) with 11 strikeouts in six innings in the 4-1 win against Saint Francis on Thursday afternoon. Dakotah Chalmer earned the save for Lakeview Academy and Ramsey Hill went 2 for 3 with one RBI, a double and a single.

The Lions visit East Jackson at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

JEFFERSON 6, LUMPKIN COUNTY 5: Andy Nicholas went 1 for 2 with an RBI and a double for the Dragons (4-3) on Thursday afternoon in Dahlonega. Satchel Turpin went 1 for 1 with an RBI and a double for Jefferson, and Ryan Johnson earned the win.

Will Anderson had an RBI double for Lumpkin County, and Cole Runyon added a three-run double.

Jefferson visits Hart County at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

NORTH OCONEE 10, FLOWERY BRANCH 0: The Falcons (4-2) will visit Dacula at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY 7, GEORGE WALTON 1: Olise Madichie scored three goals for the Eagles on Thursday afternoon. Ryan Marcano and Ricardo Madero each added two goals for Riverside.

The Eagles host East Jackson at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

HORIZON CHRISTIAN BOYS 4, NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN 2: Chandler Staton scored two goals for the Chargers on Thursday night.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY 3, ATHENS ACADEMY 1 (WEDNESDAY): After trailing 1-0 at half time, Gabriel Rodriguez, Ryan Marcano, Oliseabuka Madichie came back each scoring one goal for the Eagles (2-0) on Wednesday.

Golf

WEST HALL BOYS 202, LANIER 212: Justin Harkleroad and Ryan Allen each shot a 49 for the Spartans on Thursday afternoon at Sugar Hill Golf Club.

West Hall will compete in the Hall County Championships starting Monday at Royal Lakes County Club.

WEST HALL GIRLS 87, LANIER 123: Malorie Smith led the Lady Spartans with a 39 on Thursday afternoon at Sugar Hill Golf Club. Olivia Davis shot a 48 for West Hall.

The Lady Spartans will compete in the Warrior Tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mossy Creek Golf Course.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 88, NORTH HALL 100: Meg Callahan and Madelin Harr each shot a 44 for the Lady Red Elephants on Thursday at the Chattahoochee Golf Club.

Jessie Edge led the Lady Trojans with a 49 and Haley Twiggs shot a 51.

UNION COUNTY BOYS 194, RIVERSIDE 200 (WEDNESDAY): James Rowe shot a 45 and Blade Szczephanski shot a 47 for the Panthers on Wednesday afternoon in Blairsville.

Hunter Dutruch led Riverside with a 46 and Justin Cabe shot a 49.

Riverside will compete in the Taylor Made/Adidas Invitational on Saturday at the Waynesboro Country Club.

WEST HALL BOYS 5, JOHNSON 0: No. 1 singles player Max Wilson recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win for the Spartans (7-1, 5-1 Region 8-AAA South) on Thursday afternoon at Johnson. Brendon Worth and Min Kim added a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles for West Hall in the sweep.

The Spartans host Walnut Grove on Monday.

JOHNSON GIRLS 3, WEST HALL 2: The Lady Knights slipped by the Lady Spartans on Thursday afternoon at Johnson.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 4, CLARKE CENTRAL 1: A. J. Morris, Cris Dilidili and Beau Millwood recorded wins in singles on Thursday evening.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 5, CLARKE CENTRAL 0: Lady Falcons’ (8-1, 4-0 Region 8-AAAA) singles player Anna Kate Shaw, Elizabeth Mallory and Nicole Morris each recorded wins on Thursday evening.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, MONROE AREA 0: Connor McMorrow, Graham McKinnon and Jackson Goble led the Red Elephants sweeping all singles on Thursday afternoon.

Gainesville hosts Flowery Branch Monday.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 5, MONROE AREA 0: The Lady Red Elephants won in straight 6-0, 6-0 sets on Thursday evening.

CHESTATEE BOYS 4, NORTH HALL 1: War Eagles’ (4-2) singles players Jonathan Cook, Jeremiah Reed and Juan Carrion swept the Trojans on Thursday night at Chestatee.

Nathan Jones and Reed Patrick led North Hall with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 3, CHESTATEE 2: Lady Trojans’ (7-2, 6-0 Region 8-AAA North) doubles teams of Kelsey McCray and Natalie Oxley and Hannah Gibson and Kaitlyn Smith both won in straight sets. Morgan Van Meter won the No. 1 singles match for North Hall 6-4, 6-2. Fernanda Arcaraz won 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(7-3) for Chestatee in the No. 2 singles match that lasted over three hours. Chestatee’s Lauren McNitt won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 4, RABUN COUNTY 1: Singles player Jake Schaefer, Paul Caughlin, and Jacob Blalock each recorded wins for the Leopards (3-0, 1-0 Region 8-AA North) on Thursday.

Banks County visits Fannin County at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

BANKS COUNTY 5, EAST JACKSON 0 (TUESDAY): The Lady Leopards recorded a sweep Tuesday afternoon.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 3, JACKSON COUNTY 2 (THURSDAY): The Leopards slipped by the Panthers on Thursday afternoon.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 157, WEST HALL 155, WHITE COUNTY 93, NORTH HALL 64, CHESTATEE 39, LUMPKIN COUNTY 16: Tiarra Hill finished second in the 100 meter and 200 for the Lady Red Elephants in the Chestatee Invitational last weekend where six local schools competed in 17 events. LeNiesha Kearse led the Lady Spartans finishing first in the 1600, 300 IM and triple jump events. Maia Booker also led West Hall finishing first in the 100 and the 200.

NORTH HALL BOYS 135, GAINESVILLE 121, WHITE COUNTY 89, CHESTATEE 79, LUMPKIN COUNTY 5, WEST HALL 56: Luis Gonzalez led the Trojans finishing first 1600 meter, beating his opponents by 11 seconds with a time of 4 minutes, 35 seconds and also won the 800 in the Chestatee Invitational last weekend where six local schools competed in 17 events. Brandon Thompson led Chestatee finishing first in the 100 meter and 200. War Eagle Dylan Brock finished first in the 110 high hurdles and 300 intermediate hurdles.
