Colton Chester hit a three-run home run as part of a seven-run third inning that powered Dawson County in a 10-2 win against Chestatee on Saturday in Gainesville.

Harley Pruitt hit a pair of doubles for the Tigers (3-0), and Logan Burt earned the win pitching with eight strikeouts over five innings. Levi Whitmire struck out two in two innings of relief pitching.

Dawson County plays host to Gilmer at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dawsonville.

WEST HALL 10, JOHNSON 2 (Friday): Brian Newman and Will Simmons recorded three hits each to lead the Spartans (3-0) on Friday in Oakwood.

Michael Cronic earned the win from the mound.

West Hall plays host to Berkmar at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 2, JOHNSON 0: Julia Sienkiewicz and Corrie Thomas each scored goals for the Lady Falcons on Saturday in Flowery Branch.

Flowery Branch (3-1-1) visits North Hall on Tuesday in Gainesville.

MADISON COUNTY GIRLS 6, EAST HALL 0: The Lady Vikings fell to 0-3 on Saturday in Gainesville.

East Hall visits Mountain View on Tuesday in Lawrenceville.

EAST HALL BOYS 2, MADISON COUNTY 0: East Hall, No. 2 in Class AAA, improved to 3-0-1 on Saturday.

The Vikings visit Mountain View on Tuesday.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 3, MONROE AREA 1 (Friday): Sadie Foote and Merrie Barnett each notched a goal and an assist for the Lady War Eagles on Friday in Monroe.

Allison Whidden scored the third Chestatee goal to secure the win.

The Lady War Eagles (4-2) play host to Walnut Grove on March 7 in Gainesville.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS WIN SEASON OPENER: The Lady Red Elephants totaled 84 points to defeat Brookwood by one stroke in the Girls Gwinnett Open on Saturday in Dacula.

Morgan Reece had three birdies on her back-nine to pace Gainesville and finish fourth overall individually.
