The Lakeview Academy baseball team remained unbeaten in region play with a 13-0 win in five innings against Social Circle on Thursday in Social Circle.

Tyler Ward led the Lions (13-1, 7-0), going 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs while pitching a complete game on the mound for Lakeview.

Brett Armour was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs for the Lions, who had 15 total hits in the game. Ralston Cash and Dalton Munday each went 2-for-3.

Lakeview plays host to Towns County at 4:30 p.m. today.

Banks County 12, Oglethorpe County 2

The Leopards scored all of their runs in the first two innings to pull away early on Thursday in Homer.

Stephen Smith and Chris Porter each went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for Banks County (11-4, 5-3 Region 8S-AA). Bill Redmon was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Tyler McEntire pitched a complete game for the Leopards, striking out four.

Banks County celebrates senior night when it plays host to North Oconee at 5:55 p.m. Monday.
