High school scoreboard: Kylah Mize's buzzer-beater lifts East Hall girls past West Ashley (S.C.)

East Hall’s Kylah Mize nailed a 3-point buzzer beater to defeat West Ashley (S.C.) 38-35 in the West Ashley Invitational on Tuesday. Mize finished with 21 points for the Lady Vikings (6-5), and Carly Winters had 11.

East Hall plays its next game on Dec. 28 in the Lanierland tournament against West Hall.

WEST ASHLEY (SC) BOYS 79, EAST HALL BOYS 51: Sedrion Morse had 12 points in the loss to West Ashley in the West Ashely Invitational. East Hall’s record is now 6-5.

The Vikings play Chestatee on Dec. 28 to open Lanierland at North Hall.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 71, WALNUT GROVE GIRLS 24: Lakeview Academy’s Hanna Grogan led her team in scoring with 25 points against Walnut Grove in the Providence Christmas Classic on Tuesday night. Sadie Thrailkill and

Christen Copeland had 10 points apiece for the Lady Lions (8-2).

Lakeview Academy plays Houston County at 1 p.m. today in the Providence Christmas Tournament.

BUFORD GIRLS 74, MORGAN COUNTY GIRLS 17: Buford’s Tory Ozment led her in team in scoring with 25 points in a win against the defending Class AAA state champions Morgan County on Tuesday.

The Lady Wolves took a commanding lead at the half, leading Morgan County 40-4. Tate Walters had 13 points, while teammate Jessica Nelson posted 12 for the Lady Wolves (8-0).

Buford visits Jonesboro at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the Grayson Ram Classic.

BUFORD BOYS 60, CEDAR GROVE BOYS 45: David Viti racked up 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a win against Cedar Grove on Tuesday. Marcus Watson had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Wolves (9-0).

Buford plays Sullivan East (Tenn.) at 4 p.m. next Tuesday in the Arby’s Classic in Bristol, Tenn.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 57, WOODSTOCK BOYS 56: With 15 seconds to play, Brannon Clark made a cut to the basket and finished with a layup for Flowery Branch’s winning shot against Woodstock in the Keller Williams Christmas Classic.

Woodstock had the opportunity to win with five seconds left but missed its shot, resulting in the Falcons’ (8-2) win Tuesday night. In addition to go-ahead shot, Clark finished with 14 points.

Blake Coxworth had 12 while teammate Caleb Murphy scored 11 for Flowery Branch.

The Falcons continues play in the Keller Williams Christmas Classic at 6:30 p.m. today.

WARNER ROBINS GIRLS 78, CHESTATEE GIRLS 29: Lindsey Caudell posted 15 points, but the Lady War Eagles’ winning streak was put to a halt by the Lady Demons in the Jones County Christmas Tournament on Tuesday. The Lady War Eagles’ record is now 13-1.

Chestatee plays at 4 p.m. today in the Jones County Tournament.
