High school scoreboard: Knights win on walk-off single in eighth

Johnson High’s Fletcher Whiting hit a walk-off single in the eighth inning, driving in Chris White to lead the Knights to an 8-7 win over Chestatee on Friday in Oakwood.

Whiting finished the night with two hits, along with Trae Wilson, Nick Denard and Christian Duguay, who also had three RBIs for Johnson (5-18, 5-16 Region 7-AAA).

Blake Stacey pitched a complete game and struck out seven to earn the win for the Knights.

Chestatee (6-15, 6-15) was lead by James Kibbler and Jeremy Wilkins, who had two hits apiece.

Johnson plays host to Lumpkin County at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Chestatee visits West Forsyth at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

North Hall 12, White County 5

The Trojans scored seven runs in the fifth inning to secure a region win Friday in Cleveland.

Nate Strong led North Hall (13-10, 13-8 Region 7-AAA) with three hits and three RBIs. Jackson Coker doubled twice and Graham Duncan added two RBIs for the Trojans.

Davis Partrick recorded the win on the mound for North Hall.

White County led by Hayden Cummins, who was 3-for-4 with a double. Zach Messmore and Luke Crumley each homered for the Warriors (13-10, 11-10), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

North Hall visits Pickens at 5:30 p.m. Monday. White County visits Gainesville at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

Gainesville 14, East Hall 7

Stephen Mason allowed no earned runs and struck out four in five innings to earn the win for the Red Elephants on Friday at East Hall Park.

Will Maddox was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, Erik Tarnacki was 2-for-4 with three runs and three two RBIs and Sloan Strickland was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Gainesville (14-9, 14-8 Region 7-AAA).

Ryan Griffith and Andy Edmondson each added two hits and Daniel Wellborn had two runs scored and two RBIs for the Red Elephants.

Drew Adams was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Justin Jackson hit a three-run triple for the Vikings (8-16, 7-15).

Gainesville plays host to White County at 5:55 p.m. Monday. East Hall visits North Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Habersham Central 8, Apalachee 3

Dylan Charles was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI at the plate while striking out eight in six innings pitched to record the win for the Raiders on Friday in Mount Airy.

Colton Webber was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Habersham Central (6-15). Jonathon Thurmond added two hits and two RBIs for the Raiders.

Habersham Central visits Clarke Central at 6 p.m. Monday.

North Georgia Christian 12, Horizon Christian 11

Ryan Farmer hit a walk-off home run in the seventh inning to lead the Chargers to a win Friday in Cumming.

Farmer finished the night 3-for-4 for North Georgia Christian (4-5). Matt Cox and Josh Ford also finished 3-for-4 for the Chargers.

Cox pitched five innings to earn the win for North Georgia Christian.

North Georgia Christian plays host to Loganville Christian at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
