East Hall dominates Fannin County in Region 7-AAA play

East Hall built a double-digit first-half lead and coasted to a 72-39 win over Fannin County on Saturday in Gainesville.

Triston Cooper and Jacquen Hopkins each scored 11 points to lead the Vikings, who improved to 9-5 overall and 6-2 in Region 7-AAA.

The Vikings outscored Fannin County 45-19 across the first two quarters, before extending their lead in the third and fourth quarters.

East Hall visits North Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

JACKSON COUNTY BOYS 67, FLOWERY BRANCH 58: Taylor Bourdage scored a team-high 15 points and Cody Dewing finished with 14 points in a losing effort for the Falcons.

Flowery Branch hosts Apalachee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 36, JACKSON COUNTY 24: Kylah Mize and Breanna Locke each scored eight points and the Lady Falcons earned a non-region victory on Saturday in Jefferson. Kierra Knight finished with seven points for Flowery Branch, which hosts Apalachee at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

EAST HALL GIRLS 56, FANNIN COUNTY 51: Chelsea Dale scored 20 points and the Lady Vikings earned their second win in Region 7-AAA on Saturday in Gainesville.

Jenny Edwards, who scored a team-high 15 points in a Friday loss to Buford, finished with 12 points in the win, while Ashlyn Ellison contributed with 11 points. The Lady Vikings (9-9, 2-6) visit North Hall at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night.

FANNIN COUNTY 58, DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 45 (Friday): Ashley Parker scored 20 points and finished with seven rebounds to lead the Lady Tigers in a loss. Sheyenne Seabolt finished with 15 points, while Karlie Bearden contributed with six points for Dawson County (13-6, 4-4 Region 7-AAA).

NORTH HALL TAKES SECOND: The Trojans racked up 166 points and finished behind meet champion Gordon Lee, which finished with 185 points at the Murray County Invitational on Saturday in Dalton.

Michael Carew (132 pounds) and Austin Truelove (138) each won their weight classes, while Taylor Marett (113) finished second. Holden Barnes, Caleb Hamilton, Matthew Scavuzzo, Eric Adams, Nick Whitmire and Isaiah Hale all finished third in their respective weight classes, while Darrien Ingram placed fourth.

North Hall will wrestle Wednesday at Berkmar High in Norcross.
