High school scoreboard: Indians win in walk-off fashion

Lumpkin County took advantage of two North Hall miscues in the seventh inning to beat the Trojans 3-2 on Saturday in Dahlonega.

Will Anderson led off the seventh inning with a pinch-hit single to right field, and while stealing second, Tyler Trammell hit a single that was misplayed by North Hall, allowing Anderson to score from first. The next batter Chad Fulton perfectly executed a drag bunt and the throw to first base was overthrown, allowing Trammell to score the game-winning run from second base.

Fulton led the Indians at the plate going 2-for-3. Anderson,

Trammell and Jonathan Whitehead each added hits for Lumpkin County (15-1, 13-1 Region 7-AAA).

Randy Otis picked up the win, throwing two innings and striking out three.

North Hall (8-9, 8-7) was led by Trey Pinson, who went 2-for-4.

K.J. McAllister, Chris Stevens, Ryan Pitts and Jackson Coker all had hits for the Trojans, who had a 2-0 lead entering the bottom of the sixth inning.

Saturday’s win is the 10th in a row for Lumpkin County, which visits West Forsyth at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

North Hall visits Johnson at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

White County 5, East Hall 0

David Sosebee improved to 4-0 by striking out 11 batters on Saturday in Cleveland.

Luke Crumley hit a home run and Travis Rutkiewicz had a double and three RBIs for White County (9-9, 7-9 Region 7-AAA).

Drew Adams and Nick Deaton each went 2-for-3 for East Hall.

White County visits Gilmer at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Flowery Branch 15, West Forsyth 9

Jimmy Fitzgerald went 2-for-2 with two doubles and six RBIs in the Falcons win over West Forsyth on Saturday in Cumming.

James Mills went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, James Wilson went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and Brad Stone went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the Falcons (12-4, 11-4 Region 7-AAA).

Ryan Norris picked up the win for Flowery Branch, which scored in every inning except the fourth.

The Falcons built an 8-0 lead after three innings, but the Grizzlies battled back with six runs in the bottom of the third.

After seeing their lead shrink to one run, the Falcons scored seven runs over the final three innnings to secure the lead.

Flowery Branch visits East Hall at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
