High School Scoreboard: Flowery Branch girls basketball team tops Creekview, 62-43
Chestatee, Dawson County, Buford all pick up victories

Maddie Hetzel led Flowery Branch with 11 points and the Lady Falcons topped Creekview 62-43 Saturday afternoon. Taniyah Worth contributed 10 points. 

Flowery Branch will next play West Forsyth at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the North Forsyth Thanksgiving Tournament.

CHESTATEE 47, DISCOVERY 17: Kayla Watson scored 16 points to lead the Lady War Eagles to their first win of the season Saturday evening against Discovery.

Chestatee led 20-0 after the first quarter, and limited Discovery to just seven points in the second half. Dawndria Bell and Lindsey Caudell both had 10 points for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee next plays Johnson at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

DAWSON COUNTY 69, RABUN COUNTY 56: Senior Katelynn Simpson lead the Lady Tigers with 14 points, Karlie Bearden chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Dawson County held off Rabun County to secure a 2-0 start.

Both teams were tied 14-14 at the end of the first quarter, but Dawson County was able to score 19 points in a breakout third quarter to pull away.

Kaylee Sticker scored 12, and Haley Burgess had nine points for the Lady Tigers.

Dawson County next travels to play Union County on Monday.

BUFORD 65, TIFT COUNTY 25: Tory Ozment scored 14 points, while Chandler Hall and Rachel Dobbs both put up nine points to help the Lady Wolves to a road win Saturday evening.
Buford will next play Greater Atlanta Christian at Loganville High School at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Boys

Banks County defeated Johnson 59-50 Friday night in Oakwood. Zac Orr led the Leopards (1-0) with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Gabe Martin contributed 14 points to the victory, while Zez Steeple posted 11.

Ahmad Harrison led the Knights (1-1) with 22 points.

Next up, Banks County will host Elbert County on Tuesday. The girls will begin at 6 p.m. and the boys are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
