Edwards leads East Hall

Brian Edwards led East Hall with a game high 20 points and 14 rebounds in a 73-65 win against Rabun County to clinch the Region 8-AA North title.

J.C. Hampton added 17 points, Hayden Chapman scored 13 and T.D. Teasley finished with 13 for the Vikings.

After a 35-35 tie at the end of the first half, East Hall pulled away, outscoring the Wildcats 38-30 in the second half.

East Hall visits Union County at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Blairsville.

EAST HALL GIRLS 54, RABUN COUNTY 47: Jasmine Jenkins led the Lady Vikings (21-3, 8-1 Region 8-AA North) with a game-high 21 points and Morgan Jackson finished with 20 Tuesday night in Tiger.

East Hall visits Union County at 7 p.m. Friday in Blairsville.

WINDER-BARROW BOYS 63, FLOWERY BRANCH 52: Jamaad Stephens led the Falcons (12-13, 5-5 Region 8-AAAA) with 25 points, and Nick Wayne added 12.

Flowery Branch awaits a tie-breaker decision for second place between Apalachee, Winder-Barrow and Clarke Central, which all finished with the same 5-5 record in Region 8-AAAA behind Habersham Central.

There will be a “seeding meeting” today in Loganville to determine seeds two through five in the region.

FLOWERY BRANCH 52, WINDER-BARROW 42: Cara Chilton led the Lady Falcons with a team-high 14 points Tuesday night in Winder. Tavia Sykes added 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Lacy Ramey added 10 points.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 75, TALLULAH FALLS 21: John Cox led the Lions (20-4. 14-2 Region 8-A) with a game-high 20 points and Austin Pearson added 13 Tuesday night in Tallulah Falls.

Lakeview hosts Riverside Military at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 63, TALLULAH FALLS 44: Kelsey Gilbert led the Lady Lions (15-8) with a team-high 13 points Tuesday night in Tallulah Falls. Mona Abraham and Taylor Handte added 12 each for Lakeview.

The Lady Lions host Oglethorpe at 6 p.m. Friday

STEPHENS COUNTY BOYS 50, NORTH HALL 46: Ebo Smith led the Trojans with a team-high 19 points, and Preston smith added 14 Tuesday night in Toccoa.

North Hall will host an opponent still to be determined at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 46, STEPHENS COUNTY 37: Mary Kate Rushton led the Lady Trojans with a team-high 12 points Tuesday night in Toccoa.

North Hall will host an opponent still to be determined at 6 p.m. Feb 15.

DAWSON COUNTY BOYS 47, UNION COUNTY 39: Will Anglin led the Tigers (18-6, 5-4 Region 8-AA North) with 19 points and Tyler Dominy added 13 Tuesday night in Dawsonville.

Rhett McCombs led the Panthers with a game-high 20 points.

Dawson County hosts Banks County at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 59, UNION COUNTY 48: Carly Gilreath led the Lady Tigers (11-13, 2-7 Region 8-AA North) with a team-high 17 points and three assists Tuesday night in Dawson County. Kacie Bearden added 15 points for the Lady Tigers.

Dawson County hosts Banks County at 7 p.m. Friday.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 49, WHITE COUNTY 34: Maegan Kenimer led the Lady War Eagles (16-9, 6-4 Region 8-AAA North) with a team-high 20 points and five rebounds Tuesday night in Gainesville. Emily Crain added 15 points and seven rebounds for Chestatee.

BUFORD GIRLS 47, GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN 43: Kaela Davis led the Lady Wolves (18-7, 14-0 Region 6A-AA) with 16 points Tuesday night in Buford. Callie Case added 10 points for the Lady Wolves.

Buford will play an opponent yet to be determined on Feb. 16 in the first round of the Region 6-AA Tournament.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 78, MONROE AREA 55: Shaquan Cantrell led the Red Elephants with a 18 points and five rebounds. Chase England added 11 points and eight rebounds, and Ty Brown finished with 10 points and five rebounds.

Soccer

JOHNSON GIRLS 6, HABERSHAM CENTRAL 0 (Scrimmage): Kayln Dumanowski had three goals, and Sandra Macedo scored twice in the win Tuesday afternoon in Oakwood. Chandler Steele also scored for Johnson.

The Lady Knights visit Northview at 5:55 p.m. Feb. 14 in Duluth.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, NORTH HALL 0: The Red Elephants dominated with a shutout against the Trojans Tuesday afternoon.

Gainesville visits North Forsyth on March 9.

WEST HALL BOYS 5, DACULA 0: The Spartans shut out the Eagles (1-0) Tuesday afternoon in Oakwood.

West Hall hosts Johnson at 4 p.m. Feb. 14.
