North Hall’s Landry Haynes shot 4-under par to lead the Trojans to a 148-170 win over Johnson on Tuesday at Royal Lakes.

North Hall’s Jackson Berry finished the round even (36), while Charlie Matthews, Ryan Matthews and Andy Bracease each carded a 40.

Johnson was led by Clint Reeves’ 40 and Josh Foster’s 41. Kevin Bohn carded a 42 and Michael Dunham shot a 47 for Johnson.

North Hall will compete in the Coal Mountain Invitational on Saturday in Cumming.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 38, NORTH HALL 39: Stephanie Lightfoot shot 18-over and Susan Frobos shot 20-over to lead the Lady Red Elephants in an 8-hole match (due to darkness) Tuesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

North Hall’s Hope West was the low medalist with a score of 16-over, while Ansley Chester contributed with a score of 23 over.

Gainesville plays host to Dawson County on Thursday.

Tennis

WEST HALL BOYS 4, JOHNSON 1: The teams of Tatum Scroggs/Stephen Backus and Tyler Burgany/Andrew Johnson swept the doubles matches to lead the Spartans to a win Tuesday in Oakwood.

West Hall (3-1, 2-0 Region 7B-AAA) also received wins in singles from William Anthony and Casey Tanner.

Scott Allen picked up the lone win for Johnson (1-2, 0-1) at No. 1 singles.

Johnson plays host to North Forsyth at 4 p.m. today. West Hall visits Gainesville at 4 p.m. today.

JOHNSON GIRLS 5, WEST HALL 0: The Lady Knights lost just two games and no sets in their sweep of West Hall on Tuesday in Oakwood.

Cady Nix, Kamy Field and Maggie Turner all won in singles, while the teams of Claire Crain/Harlee Robson and Lauren Houston/Carlyn Ivey won in doubles.

NORTH HALL BOYS 4, WHITE COUNTY 1: The Trojans swept the doubles matches and picked up two wins in singles to beat White County on Tuesday.

Mitch McCray and Jesse Morris each won in singles for North Hall, while the teams of Charlie Hortenstine/Eli LoCicero and Joe Nedza/Sam Taylor won in doubles.

Thomas Flowers picked up the lone win for White County.

North Hall (2-3, 1-0 Region 7A-AAA) plays host to Creekview at 4 p.m. today.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 5, GAINESVILLE 0: Anna Kate Shaw, Elizabeth Mallory and Morgan Reed each won in singles to lead the Lady Falcons to a sweep of Gainesville on Tuesday.

The teams of Nicki Price/Molly Smith and Dani Taylor/Lindsey Shaw won in doubles for the Lady Falcons.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 4, FLOWERY BRANCH 1: Ryan Joiner, Connor McMorrow and Ben Klein swept the singles matches to lead the Red Elephants to a win Tuesday.

The two schools split the doubles matches with Jake Jacobs and Luke Smith winning for Flowery Branch and Alxander Davis and Austin Miller winning for Gainesville.

Gainesville plays host to West Hall at 4 p.m. today.

Soccer

WHITE COUNTY GIRLS 4, FRANKLIN COUNTY 0: Kaitlyn Hooper scored two goals and had one assist to lead the Lady Warriors past Franklin County on Tuesday.

Oriana Valencia and Haley Rumfield also scored for White County (2-0).

The Lady Warriors play host to Gainesville on Friday.

BUFORD GIRLS 4, NORTH HALL 3: Jacey Chandler scored on a penalty kick with two minutes left in the game to give the Lady Wolves a win Tuesday.

Liz Darden scored two goals and Anne Schmidt scored once for Buford.

Allie Wright and Heather Strickland scored for North Hall.

Buford visits Athens Academy on Friday. North Hall plays host to Habersham Central at 7 p.m. Thursday.

BUFORD BOYS 2, NORTH HALL 2: Gerado Mondragon scored both the goals for the Wolves on Tuesday.

Marcos Llanos and Blake Knoll scored for North Hall.

Buford visits Athens Academy on Friday.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 10, BANKS COUNTY 0: Hartley Carter scored three goals and fellow freshman Mary-Catherine Dempsey scored two goals and had three assists in Gainesville’s big win Tuesday.

Liza Carpenter had two goals and two assists and Raquel Castillo had two goals and an assist for the Lady Red Elephants (1-0).

Sophomore Stephanie Flores also scored for Gainesville. Hong Tran and Natalie Allen combined to record the shutout.

Gainevillve visits White County at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 6, BANKS COUNTY 0: Irving Salgado scored two goals to lead the Red Elephants to a win in their season opener Tuesday in Homer.

Aiden Reising, Merly Velasquez, Russ Puckett and Gabriel Osorio also scored for Gainesville (1-0). Osorio and Alberto Murrillo each had an assist for the Red Elephants, who visit White County at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

NORTH FORSYTH GIRLS 5, CHESTATEE 2: Alexis Rebollar scored both goals for the Lady War Eagles (0-1) on Tuesday in their season opener.

Rachel Wright had an assist for Chestatee, which plays host to East Hall on Friday.

Baseball

BANKS COUNTY 8, WEST HALL 7: Kyle Smith went 3-for-3 with a home run, double and three RBIs to lead the Leopards to a one-run win Tuesday in their season opener.

Bill Redmon went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored for the Leopards, whose winning pitcher Seth McEntere surrendered only one unearned run and three hits in four innings.

West Hall (0-1) was led by Max Everitt, who went 3-for-4 and had three RBIs.

Banks County (1-0) plays host to Elbert County at 5:30 p.m. today. West Hall visits East Jackson at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

NORTH OCONEE 14, FLOWERY BRANCH 3: The Falcons gave up 11 runs in the second inning and had only two hits Tuesday in Athens.

Corey Sanderson and C.J. Javin each had hits for the Falcons, who were shut down by University of Georgia commit Taylor Hicks.

Flowery Branch (0-1) visits Clarke Central at 5:55 p.m. today.

GAINESVILLE 10, CENTRAL GWINNETT 4: Hunter Anglin struck out five and gave up one hit in 4 1/3 innings to lead the Red Elephants to a win Tuesday in Lawrenceville.

Anglin got plenty of run support thanks to Will Maddox, Stephen Mason and K.J. McAllister. Maddox hit a home run, had four RBIs and two runs scored, Mason went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and McAllister went 2-for-2 with two doubles and three walks.

Gainesville (1-0) plays host to Habersham Central at 5:55 p.m. Thursday.

JOHNSON 9, CEDAR SHOALS 6: Chris White had three hits to lead the Knights to a win in their season opener Tuesday in Athens.
Ryan Farmer added two hits and Win Griffith picked up the win on the mound for Johnson.

The Knights (1-0) play host to Rabun County at 5:55 p.m. today.
