Kenimer leads Chestatee

Maegan Kenimer led the Chestatee (17-9) with a team-high 18 points and Savanna Long added 10 in a 45-36 win against West Hall on Thursday night in Watkinsville.

Chestatee has clinched a spot in the state tournament and the Region 8-AAA semifinals against Oconee County at 7 p.m. today.

SALEM GIRLS 38, FLOWERY BRANCH 31: Tavia Sykes led the Lady Falcons with a team-high 14 points and Jacey Ramey added 13 Thursday night.

Flowery Branch plays Clarke Central for third place in the Region 8-AAAA tournament at 4 p.m. today in Loganville.

Tennis

WEST HALL BOYS 5, JOHNSON 0: Max Wilson finished 6-0, 6-2 in No. 1 singles for the Spartans (2-0, 1-0 Region 8-AAA South) in the shutout and Tatum Scroggs and Austin Dyer went 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 doubles for West Hall.

JOHNSON GIRLS 4, WEST HALL 1: Maggie Turner went 6-2, 6-1 in No. 1 singles for the Lady Knights Wednesday in Oakwood.

West Hall pair Catherine Young and Erin Cansler recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win in No.1 doubles.

Soccer

WHITE COUNTY BOYS 3, TOWNS COUNTY 2: Eddie Hurst scored 2 goals for the Warriors (2-0) Thursday night in the Mountain Madness Tournament championship.

Will Gearing added one goal for White County and Coley Loudermilk had an assist.

The Warriors host Dawson County at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Cleveland.

BUFORD GIRLS 2, DAWSON COUNTY 1: Melissa Sullivan and Ann Schmidt each scored for the Lady Wolves (2-0) Thursday in Buford.

Buford visits Calvalry Baptist at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

WEST HALL BOYS 2, WINDER-BARROW 0: Edgar Jaimes scored both goals for the Spartans in the middle of the second half Thursday night in Winder. Jaimes’ first goal was assisted by Matt Lewis in the 76th minute and Ronald Portillo had an assist in the 78th minute of play. Frankie Vasquez recorded four saves for West Hall, marking his second shutout of the season.
