The Lakeview Academy boys basketball team earned its third win of the year in a 70-56 win over George Walton in Monroe on Wednesday.

Austin Montgomery tallied 17 points for the Lions and teammate Derek Fadool added 15 points.

Austin Pearson helped the Lions with 14 points.

Lakeview (3-2) plays at Towns County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

GEORGE WALTON GIRLS 60, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 52: The Lady Lions dropped their record to .500 on the season with a 60-52 loss to George Walton on Wednesday in Monroe.

Lakeview’s Taylor Handte and George Walton’s Ivy Atkinson tied for a game-high 16 points, while Bre Atkism and Sue Anna Holder had 10 points each for the Bulldogs.

Lakeview (4-4) travels to Towns County at 7 p.m. on Friday.

BANKS COUNTY 74, OGLETHORPE COUNTY 25: Deasha Beasley scored 13 points to lead the Lady Leopards won Tuesday night in Lexington.

Madison Franklin added 12 points, and every player on Banks County’s roster scored.

The Lady Leopards (4-1) travel to Fannin County at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Wrestling

Dawson County went 1-1 in a tri-match with Milton and Blessed Trinity on Tuesday in Roswell.

Rick Brown (170 pounds), Evan Kells (182) and Joseph Toal (195) won in both of their matches for the Tigers.

Dawson County outscored Milton 48-30 in their second match. Cory Jenkins (132), Travis Dawson (138), Levi Pressley (145) and Larry Adams (160) won their matches against the Eagles. Joshua Gee won matches in the 220 and 285 pound weight classes wrestling against the Milton.

Quade Buytendore (113), James Evans (126) and Chester Colton (285) won matches in the Tigers 41-30 loss to Blessed Trinity.

Dawson County wrestles next at the Rumble on the Ridge hosted by Fannin County on Dec. 10.
