West Hall volleyball scored wins against Jackson County 25-12, 25-23, Johnson 25-20, 25-18, and East Hall 25-22, 25-11 on Tuesday in Oakwood.

The Lady Spartans (8-0) had two players with 16 kills, Stephanie Rowland and LeNiesha Kearse, while Laykin Herford added 31 assists.

Johnson’s Karis Sloan had five blocks and four kills against the West Hall.

East Hall defeated the Lady Knights (3-3) 25-17, 25-17 in a game in which Sophia Love had five assists and Lindsey Anderson had two kills and two blocks for Johnson.

In its third match, Johnson beat Jackson County 30-28, 15-25, 25-17.

The Lady Knights’ Savannah Turk had five kills to add to Lejavian Ratliff’s seven aces and three kills.

East Hall notched another win against Jackson County 26-28, 25-23, 25-18.

The Lady Vikings were led on the evening by Brittney Cambell, who had one ace, six kills, 27 assists and eight digs.

Kara Hix had four aces, seven kills, eight digs and one assist for East Hall.

The Lady Vikings play again at 5 p.m. on Thursday at East Hall in a quad-match with Jackson County, Lumpkin County and Gainesville.

Johnson plays at 5 p.m. Thursday at Winder-Barrow.

The newly No. 9-ranked Lady Spartans travel to Lanier to play at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

JEFFERSON WINS AT NORTH HALL

Cassie Metcalf had seven aces and five kills in the Lady Dragons’ win over North Hall, 25-19, 25-12, 16-25, 25-14 on Tuesday.

Jefferson also had a strong performance from Amanda Daniel who turned in three aces, five kills, and 22 assists.

Kristina Gregory had 11 assists, three kills and five aces to lead the Lady Trojans.

McKenna Rushton led North Hall with seven kills and added three blocks. Sarah Paschall had 13 digs to lead the Lady Trojans.

North Hall plays at West Forsyth at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

BUFORD BEATS COLLINS HILL

Maggie Roper tallied 23 kills, five aces, and 17 digs for the Lady Wolves in matches against Collins Hill 25-13, 21-25, 25-15, Johns Creek 8-25, 13-25, and Sequoyah 15-25, 23-25 on Tuesday.

Buford’s Bailey Hicks had 41 assists to go along with Mikhayla Riegal’s 22 digs.

The Lady Wolves play again at 5 p.m. on Thursday when they host Peachtree Ridge and Mill Creek.

LAKEVIEW WINS HOME TRI-MATCH

The Lady Lions (6-2) won their first match of the night against East Jackson 25-9, 25-16 on Tuesday. 

Jamie Nixon had 10 kills in addition to Megan McIntire’s six assists for Lakeview.

In their second match of the night, the Lady Lions beat Habersham Central 22-25, 25-8, 25-18.

Bailey Towels had 11 assists and 14 straight service points to close out the second game, while Nixon had 20 kills and Molly Gay had 13 assists for Lakeview, which hosts Jefferson and Prince Avenue beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Softball

BUFORD 7, ST. PIUS X 2

Bria Bush improved her record to 3-1 on the season by going 5 2/3 innings, striking out six and walking one for the Lady Wolves.

Kallie Case led Buford offensively with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate. Case had two RBIs, scored two runs, hit a triple and stole a base. 

Rebecca Case also scored two runs on her 3-for-3 day for Buford.

The Lady Wolves wrap up a string of 10 consecutive road games with a contest against North Forsyth at 5 p.m. today at North Georgia College & State University.
