Buford sophomore Bria Bush led the Class AA defending state champion Lady Wolves to three wins Saturday and a top finish in the Wesleyan bracket of the Georgia Dugout Club Leadoff Classic at Wesleyan in Norcross. Bush, who was named to the All-Tournament Team for her play in the pitcher’s circle and at the plate, finished the tournament with a 0.64 ERA and went 5 for 11 on the mound with three RBIs. Bush (3-0) pitched a five-inning, complete game with three strikeouts and two hits allowed against Loganville to earn a 5-1 win in the opener Saturday.
