Kayla Street pitched a complete game with only a single earned run allowed for Gainesville in a 9-5 win against West Hall on Thursday in Gainesville. Abby Smallwood, Street, Courtney Presnell, Madison Oliver, Whitney Ledford and Tyra Newton each added a hit and run scored for the Lady Red Elephants, who move to 5-1 on the season.

On Tuesday, Gainesville faces Chestatee at 5:55 p.m.

BANKS COUNTY 5, FRANKLIN COUNTY 1: Kelyn Parson had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Leopards on Thursday in Carnesville. Kaitlyn Stewart and Morgan Rylee each finished 2 for 4 for Banks County. Mallory Parson earned the complete-game win for the Lady Leopards, collecting five strikeouts from the pitching circle.

On Friday, Banks County faces Hart County in the Threads Tournament at 5:45 p.m. at Stephens County High.


LADY WOLVES TAKE TWO: Morgan Mitchell had 23 assists, while Gabby Curry added eight kills for Buford in a 25-17, 25-12 win against Mill Creek on Thursday in Buford. Tatum Shipes chipped in 10 kills for the Lady Wolves in a 25-16, 25-24 win against North Gwinnett to end the night. Mikhayla Riegel had 12 digs for Buford, while Amanda Hopkins added five aces.

CHESTATEE SWEEPS TRI-MATCH: Tyler Bennett had 12 kills and five aces for the Lady War Eagles in wins against Gilmer (25-15, 26-14) and West Hall (27-17, 25-10) on Thursday in Gainesville.

Grace Brown added nine kills and five aces, Macey Jarrard notched six digs, two kills and an ace, and Haley King had 17 assists and a seven-point service run with an ace.

Chestatee visits Lakeview Academy on Aug. 21.

JEFFERSON SPLITS PAIR: Bre Arbanas tallied four aces and four kills for the Lady Dragons in a win against Monroe Area (25-20, 25-16) and a loss to Prince Avenue Christian (25-19, 21-25, 25-9) on Thursday.

Abby Wood had 12 digs, 10 kills and an ace, Lindsey Nilsen added 13 kills and two aces, and Grace Williamson had six aces, six digs and five kills.

EAST HALL WINS TWO: Allyson Segars recorded 30 service points with 21 aces, 14 kills and three digs for East Hall in wins against Madison County (25-17, 25-14) and Johnson (25-18, 25-14) and a loss to East Jackson (18-25, 25-23, 25-16) on Thursday in Gainesville.

Minette Maldonado contributed 16 service points with 12 kills, eight aces and four digs. Cassida Shockley had 13 points on serve along with 37 assists, nine digs, nine aces and five kills.

The Lady Vikings play in a tri-match with Winder-Barrow and Clarke Central on Tuesday in Winder.
