The East Hall Lady Vikings volleyball team started off the 2011 season at the East Jackson Playdate on Saturday. The team opened the season 3-1 giving the program its best start in school history.

They had wins over Cedar Shoals 25-18, 25-18, Madison County 25-17, 25-7 and Lumpkin County 25-10, 25-17.

Their only loss of the day came to Jackson County in a tough 3 game match 17-25, 25-18, 18-25.

Kara Hix led the Lady Vikings with 29 points scored on serve. Tarryn Long led the team with 29 kills while Brittney Campbell chipped in with 30 assists.

East Hall will play host to West Hall, Habersham and Flowery Branch on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the East Hall Community Center. Games will begin at 5 p.m.
