Gainesville’s Kayla Street struck out seven batters, while putting up two hits with two runs and two batted in for a 4-2 win against Central Gwinnett on Wednesday in Lawrenceville.
Whitney Ledford had two runs and stole three bases for the Lady Red Elephants (4-1), who host West Hall at 5:55 tonight in Gainesville. Admission is free for the program’s first game at the school’s new on-campus field.
On Tuesday, Gainesville earned a 14-4 win against Johnson in Oakwood, behind three hits and three RBIs from Ledford. Angel Goss, Courtney Presnell and Abby Smallwood each finished with two hits for the Lady Red Elephants.
Kara England earned the win, pitching four innings and allowing only a pair of runs.
BUFORD 10, LOGANVILLE 3: Kennedy Katula earned her second victory of the season for the Lady Wolves (3-0), while picking up a pair of hits with two RBIs on Wednesday in the Hog-Bulldog Invitational at Flowery Branch High.
Katula pitched all six innings, while collecting six strikeouts from the pitching circle.
Sydney Starvo went 4 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs for Buford, while Drew Puckett chipped in a double and two runs. On Friday, Buford faces Parkview in the next round of the Hog-Bulldog Invitational at 6 p.m. at Flowery Branch.
FLOWERY BRANCH 12, MOUNTAIN VIEW 4: Kelly Kalhert went 4 for 4, while Bailey Sims, Shelby Griffin and Johanna Earnhardt each had a pair of hits for the Lady Falcons (3-1) on Wednesday.
