Jonathan Gettys threw a no-hitter and recorded 14 strikeouts for Gainesville in an 8-1 win over Clarke Central on Wednesday in Athens.

Caleb Whitenton led the Red Elephants offensively, going 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs and two runs scored. Michael Gettys was 3 for 5 for Gainesville (14-2, 6-1 Region 8-AAAAA), and Hunter Anglin and Brandon Sewell each went 3 for 4.

The Red Elephants play host to Clarke Central at 5:55 p.m. Friday at Ivey-Watson Field in Gainesville.

NORTH HALL 12, BANKS COUNTY 2: Colton Duttweiler earned the complete-game win with nine strikeouts over five innings and went 3 for 4 hitting with a pair of doubles for North Hall on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Andrew Smith and Preston Graham each added two doubles for the Trojans (14-2, 11-1 Region 7-AAA), and Griffin Olson recorded a double and two RBIs.

North Hall visits Banks County at 5:55 p.m. Friday in Homer.

EAST HALL 4, DAWSON COUNTY 3: Jack Hagwood went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and earned the win pitching for East Hall (6-10, 4-7 Region 7-AAA) on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Caleb Holtzclaw led the Vikings’ offense with a solo home run in his only plate appearance. Jacob Cash was 1 for 4 with an RBI triple, and Garrett Bishop was also 1 for 4 with an RBI.

East Hall visits Dawson County at 5:55 p.m. Friday in Dawsonville.

JACKSON COUNTY 4, ELBERT COUNTY 2: Brett Bowen powered the Panthers with a pair of RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base in a 1-for-3 performance on Wednesday in Jefferson.

Chandler Malecki was 1 for 3 with an RBI for Jackson County (10-6, 4-1 Region 8-AAA), and Colby Cole was 1 for 2 with a run scored, a stolen base and an RBI.

Coleman Barbee earned the win from the mound for the Panthers, striking out five over five innings and allowed just one run on two hits. Casey Dunfee got the save for Jackson County, pitching two innings with four strikeouts and no hits.

The Panthers visit Elbert County at 5:55 Friday in Elberton.
