Haynes leads Spartans in 11-10 win

Austin Haynes went 2 for 4 with three RBIs for West Hall (6-13, 4-10) in a 11-10 win against White County on Friday night in Oakwood. Chase Jarrard hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game for the Spartans, and Cody Simpson earned the win while going 2 for 4 at the plate.

West Hall hosts Walnut Grove at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

JOHNSON 5, FRANKLIN COUNTY 4: Trae Wilson led the Knights (11-9) with a home run and two RBIs on Friday night in Oakwood. A.J. Benefield went 2 for 4 with one RBI for Johnson, while earning the win with 11 strikeouts in seven innings.

The Knights host Monroe Area at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

FLOWERY BRANCH 8, SALEM 6: Drew Miles had a home run with two RBIs for the Falcons (16-4, 10-2 Region 8-AAAA) and Chase Hulsey had a home run on Friday night in Flowery Branch.

C.J. Navin went 3 for 3 for the Falcons, Chandler Newton earned the win, and Blake Turner got the save.
Flowery Branch visits Madison County at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY 1, SOCIAL CIRCLE 0: Orlando Lynch had a double and scored on an error in the bottom of the sixth for the Eagles (11-9-1, 9-6 Region 8-A) on Friday night in Gainesville.

Riverside hosts Prince Avenue at 5:55 p.m Monday.

LUMPKIN COUNTY 12, MONROE AREA 2: Evan Gaddis led the Indians (7-12) going 2 for 4 with four RBIs and earning the win, pitching 5 1/3 innings on Friday night. Cole Walden went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Lumpkin County and Daniel McCray went 3 for 5 with three RBIs.

The Indians host Franklin County at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

EAST HALL SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER WITH FANNIN COUNTY: Hunter Buffington and C.J. White each had a home run and a double for East Hall in a 18-11 win on Friday night in Blue Ridge.

Jonathan Woodring earned the win for the Vikings. In game two Woodring had a double and two RBIs for East Hall in the 10-4 loss.


GAINESVILLE BOYS 8, WHITE COUNTY 0: Douglas Mejia and Merly Velasquez each scored two goals for the Red Elephants (13-1, 7-0 Region 8-AAA South) on Friday night at City Park. Juan Remes, Aiden Reising, Roman Arriaga and Ricardo Gomez each added goals for Gainesville. Juan Remes and Edgar Espinosa combined for the shutout for the Red Elephants.

Gainesville visits Johnson at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 2, WHITE COUNTY 0: Natalie Allen and Liza Carpenter each scored for the Lady Red Elephants (12-2-1, 10-0 Region 8-AAA South) on Friday night at City Park. Rebecca Webster recorded two saves in the shutout for Gainesville

The Lady Red Elephants visit Johnson at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

WEST HALL BOYS 2, LUMPKIN COUNTY 0: Ramsis Martinez and Dabid Marquez each scored goals for the Spartans (9-5-1, 6-3 Region 8-AAA) on Friday night in Oakwood. McGowan Peacock and Edgar Jaimes each had assists for West Hall, and goalkeepers Cesar Marceleno and Frankie Vazquez earned the shutout.

The Spartans visit North Hall at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

WEST HALL GIRLS 5, LUMPKIN COUNTY 1: Idalia Avelar led the Lady Spartans (9-5, 7-2 Region 8-AAA South) with two goals on Friday night in Oakwood. Rachel Kline, Katie Forrester and Yohet Terrones each added a goal for West Hall.

The Lady Spartans visit North Hall at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN 2, COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN 1: Kayla Goodson scored first for the Lady Chargers (5-5) on Friday night in Stockbridge. Nicole Ball scored the game winner with a header off of a corner kick from her twin sister Jordan Ball.

The Lady Chargers visit Horizon Christian Academy on Monday.


JEFFERSON BOYS 5, EAST HALL 0 (THURSDAY): Zach Bost, Gage Thompson and Justin Harrison each recorded wins for the Dragons on Thursday afternoon in Jefferson.
