Johnson was unable to pick up its first subregion win, falling 43-7 to Creekview on Friday in Canton.
The Knights (1-5, 0-2 Region 7B-AAA) hoped to bounce back from a loss in their subregion opener last week to Flowery Branch, but 7B-AAA newcomer Creekview proved to be too much.
Johnson will get its next chance to pick up subregion win No. 1 when they play host to West Hall at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the annual “Battle of Oakwood”.
Hart County 41, Jackson County 0
Nick Oney led the Panthers (1-3-1, 0-2 Region 8-AAA) with 27 yards passing Friday in Hartwell. Rob Williams carried the ball eight times for 30 yards for Jackson County.
Jackson County plays host to Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in Jefferson.
Banks County 42, East Jackson 0
Justin Beasley led the Leopards to victory Friday in Commerce with 213 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Leopards quarterback Chris Porter passed for 80 yards and a touchdown for Banks County (2-4, 2-3 Region 8-AA).
Demetric Dempson added 75 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and Cane Duncan caught four passes for 54 yards and a touchdown for Banks County.
Banks County plays host to Jefferson on October 17 in Homer.
Habersham Central 28, Madison County 7
The Raiders picked up their second consecutive win Friday in Danielsville. Habersham Central (3-3, 3-3 Region 8-AAAA) quarterback Austin Brown was 8-for-13 passing for 165 yards and two touchdowns Friday night in Danielsville.
David Griffin rushed for 104 yards and Zach Mayfield caught three passes for 93 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders.
Habersham Central visits Apalachee at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in Bethlehem.
Dawson County 27, Oglethorpe County 6
The Tigers snapped a four game losing streak on Friday night in Lexington. The Dawson County defense shutout the Patriots through the first three quarters. Chase Gilreath led the Tigers (2-4, 1-4 Region 8-AA) with four touchdowns.
Dawson County plays host to North Oconee October 17 in Dawsonville.
North Oconee 34, Rabun County 0
Scott Annis had a punt return for a touchdown on Friday night for the Titans in Watkinsville.
Dawson Kilcrease intercepted a pass late in the game for North Oconee (5-1, 3-1 Region 8-AA). Brandon Whitlock rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown, and Lane Thompson added 91 yards, a touchdown, and a fumble recovery on defense for the Titans.
North Oconee visits Dawson County on October 17 in Dawsonville.
North Georgia Christian 34, Praise Academy 18
Andrew Skelton led the way for North Georgia Christian (3-4) with three receptions for 181 yards and a touchdown on Friday in Powder Springs. Joe Boonstra finished the game 5-for-10 for 102 yards and a touchdown for the Chargers.
Tyler Harney led North Georgia Christian’s running game with 69 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Dunn added 60 yards and a touchdown for the Chargers.
North Georgia Christian visits Grace Baptist at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
