High school football: North Hall locks up playoff spot with commanding win against Gilmer
Trojans now 4-0 in Region 7-3A

North Hall quarterback Bradford Puryear got the scoring started with a 61-yard run in the first quarter as it cruised past Gilmer 33-13 on Friday in Ellijay. With the win, the Trojans move to 4-0 in Region 7-3A play and are assured a spot in the state playoffs. 

In the second quarter, Clark Howell had rushing scores of 29 and 43 yards. He punched it in on runs of 47 and 5 yards in the second half. 

North Hall (5-3, 4-0) finished with 350 rushing yards. 

Howell had a season-high 22 carries for 232 yards. 

Up next, North Hall visits Cherokee Bluff on Nov. 13 in Flowery Branch.
