High school football: Flowery Branch dominates early, holds on to beat Cedar Shoals
Falcons jumped to 20-0 lead, salvage win in Region 8-4A

Ryan Lusco had an over-the-shoulder grab that went for a 35-yard touchdown midway through the second period as Flowery Branch beat Cedar Shoals 27-20 on Friday in Athens. Tight end Baxley O'Brien had a 36-yard touchdown catch across the middle in the first half for the Falcons (5-2, 2-1 Region 8-4A), while Renard punched it in on a 14-yard run early in the first quarter for Flowery Branch. 

For the Falcons, Jaizen Ellingham had 106 yards on the ground, while Myles Ivey had 104 rushing.

Up next, Flowery Branch hosts Madison County on Friday.
