ATLANTA — After losing to Class AAAAA No. 3 Northside-Warner Robins, Class AAA Carver-Columbus drops to No. 2 and makes way for Cairo to top the poll in this week's Associated Press high school football poll.
No. 7 Cartersville moves up two positions, No. 6 Dunwoody jumps one as No. 10 Carrollton falls two slots and Washington County enters the rankings at No. 9. Gainesville held at No. 8 following its 30-7 win over White County.
In Class AAAA, No. 6 Thomas County Central climbs three positions as No. 4 Statesboro moves up two. No. 9 Marist enters the poll after beating Chamblee 14-13 dropping them five slots to No. 8. Ware County exits the poll after a 30-0 drubbing from Class AAAAA No. 1 Lowndes making way for Rome to enter at No. 10 and Whitewater to exit. Tucker and Westside-Macon remain Nos. 1 and 2, respectively in AAAA.
In Class AA, No. 6 Westminster and No. 7 Jefferson County each jumped three slots while No. 9 McIntosh County Academy and Henry County climb two positions to a tie. The top three remain unchanged with Buford still No. 1.
Some flip-flopping took place in Class AAAAA with No. 5 Walton and No. 6 Valdosta exchanging places along with No. 7 Grayson and No. 8 Harrison. The top four ranking continue for another week.
The only changes in Class A are No. 8 Brookstone and No. 9 Bowdon hopping up one place.
