High school basketball: Cherokee Bluff boys come up short against Dawson County in Region 7-3A semifinals
Cherokee Bluff's Davon Ruffins guards a Dawson County player during the Region 7-3A tournament semifinals Friday in Gainesville.

Bosko Norman scored 16 points for Cherokee Bluff, but the Bears simply couldn’t keep up with Dawson County’s explosive offense. The Tigers hit on nine 3-pointers in the first three quarters to build up a huge lead before coasting to a 70-62 win in the Region 7-3A semifinal matchup.

Cherokee Bluff kept up for most of the opening frame, but a pair of Dawson County 3s in the closing seconds of the first quarter put the Tigers up by 6 eight minutes in.

Dawson County hit four of its 3s in the second period to go up 15 at halftime and expanded that lead to 21 points after holding Cherokee Bluff to just 7 points in the third quarter.
