Gainesville High rising juniors Marcquel Woodard and Sara Hayes competed in the USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships in July in Baltimore, Md. Woodard finished in sixth place in the 800 meter with a time of 1 minute, 57.70 seconds. Hayes finished ninth in the heptathlon with a combined score of 3713 from the 100 meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 meter run, long jump, javelin throw, and 800 meter run.
