Gainesville junior Brody Simmons shot a combined 9-over par, 153 to edge Brent Hamm of Warner Robbins by one stroke and win the Georgia Southern Junior Classic on Sept. 18 at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course in Bulloch. Simmons secured par on seven of nine holes on the front nine and birdied twice on the back nine to finish Round 1 with a 4-over par, 76. He birdied on the par-3 fourth hole and par-5 15th to conclude tournament play with a 5-over par, 77.
