Gainesville's Bishop 2nd at junior tour event

Gainesville High junior Jackson Bishop took second Sunday in the 54-hole Challenge at The Brickyard event on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour at the Brickyard Golf Course in Macon. Bishop shot a 15-over par for the three-round event and was two shots off of the winner Barrett Waters of Dallas.

In the 15-18 year old division, Bishop carded a 73 over the first round, followed by 78 and 80 for the final two rounds.

Red Elephants senior Pep Brown shot a 20-over for the three-round event, which was good enough for third place.

Brown carded a 75 during the second round.

In the girls 15-18 division, Buford senior Katie Plummer placed third with a 42-over par, three-shots back of the winner Macy McRaney of Winter Garden, Fla.
