The final polls for the 2008-09 basketball season were released Monday by The Associated Press
Three area teams are ranked in the top 10 of their classification, led by the Buford girls, who have the top spot and every first-place vote after winning the Class AA state championship last Saturday.
The Gainesville boys, who played in the Class AAA state semifinals, finish the season ranked fifth. Riverside Military ends its first year back in the GHSA ranked ninth.
Area teams receiving votes are the North Hall and West Hall boys and East Hall and Gainesville girls.a
