After six years in Gainesville, Julie Rushing has decided to resign as head volleyball coach at Chestatee High School, according to a Hall County Schools press release.

Rushing racked up three consecutive GHSA state tournament appearances in her six years at Chestatee, including the first berth in school history in 2012.

The release said Chantelle Quintana will continue as head coach after working as assistant coach under Rushing.

Rushing was named as The Times’ All-Area Coach of the Year following the 2013 season, where she led the Lady War Eagles to the Class AAAA quarterfinals. Her overall career record is 86-141.

Rushing arrived at Chestatee in 2009 after coaching three seasons at Chattahoochee High in Fulton County.
