Chestatee High principal Suzanne Jarrard and athletic director Ben Corley announced Thursday the hire of three new coaches for the 2014-2015 season.

Kyle Barr will take over as the War Eagles head wrestling coach for Carey Whitlow, who retired following the 2014 season.

Barr was the assistant wrestling coach at Chestatee for the past two years, and was the head coach at Lumpkin County for two years when his teams went a combined 57-12. Overall, Barr has 10 years of coaching experience.

Adam Rich will join the War Eagles’ staff as the head softball coach for the fall. Rich coached at West Hall in 2013 after spending 11 years coaching high school sports in Tallahassee, Fla. Rich took the Chiles High softball team to back-to-back appearances in the state final four in Florida during his tenure.

Pending school board approval, Chestatee has chosen Stacey Merck as the next girls track coach. Merck spent three years as the Davis Middle track and cross country coach and was the head girls’ track and cross country coach for the War Eagles in 2007 and 2008. Merck is currently an assistant track coach for Chestatee.
