Buford swept in second round

The Buford High baseball was swept Wednesday by Pike County in the second round of the Class AA state playoffs in Zebulon.

The Wolves managed just five singles in Game 1, which they lost 7-2. Woody Ciepiela and Brian Clark each had a run scored for Buford.

In Game 2, Adam Schrader had two hits and two stolen bases for Buford in the 5-4 loss.

Dylan Stowe and Jamie Ritchie each had a double and an RBI for the Wolves.

With the sweep, Buford’s season is now complete at 20-9.
