Behind a strong showing from Andraya Carter, the Lady Wolves advanced to the state quarterfinals with a 65-39 win over Crawford County on Wednesday night.

Carter had 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 steals in the victory.

Shereese Williams added 18 points and Lacey Pass had 12.

Buford will play the winner of the Lovett/Rabun County game at 7 p.m. Friday at the Northwest Georgia Trade Center in Dalton.

The Lady Wolves (26-4) went 2-1 against Lovett this year, including a 10-point victory that put them in the Region 6-AA championship game.

The Lady Lions (20-9) defeated Buford on Feb. 12 by a score of 46-38.  The only other teams to beat the defending Class AA champions this year are Region 6-AA champion Greater Atlanta Christian and Class AAAA’s Southwest DeKalb.

Buford beat Rabun County in the quarterfinals of last year’s state tournament.
