The Buford softball team won the Region 6-AA championship Friday in Atlanta, defeating Greater Atlanta Christian 9-1 in five innings.

Melissa Dickie threw a no-hitter and picked up the win for the Lady Wolves (27-2-1). Lexi Overstreet went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run for Buford. Alysha Rudnik was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs for the Lady Wolves. Karly Fullem hit a homerun and Whitney Holman added two runs for the Buford.

Buford will play the No. 4 seed from Region 5-AA in the AA North sectionals at 6 p.m. Friday in Dalton.
